The Gates Are Done

Another beautiful day here in Florida….   the nights are getting colder, but the days are still warm and sunny….  still no rain in the forecast tho…..

All the plants that were put out for the summer are safe and warm on the screen porch…..   I’ll post a few pictures when I get a chance….

Here’s a picture of the Chatelaine Mystery Ten that I’m working on after 339 hours….   it is a mystery in 12 parts and copyrighted by designer Martina Weber….   part 12 will be out in December and when I’m finished that I’ll be doing all the beading…..

MX - Part 11 - Completed

I am up to date with this by finishing part 11 last night…..   one part to go and it will be done….

Taking a break from this intricate design, I’ve started working on John Clayton’s ‘Hannah’ again…..   progress picture in a day or so….

It’s been a while since I’ve been here, but wanted to catch up a little on the Quaker Sampler Stitch Along I finally finished…..   here is a picture of the finished product which took 125.75 hours to finish:

Quaker SAL - Finished

will post another picture when I get it back from the frame shop….

The weather here has finally broken and it seems more like Fall…..   the water in our fountain froze the other night…..   but this isn’t all bad because now we should get good weather for another week or so….  our cold nights only come one or two at a time and maybe only every other week…..

have to get back to working on my Chatelaine Mystery Ten, so I can be caught up for the last part in December…..   one more corner and 6 gates and I’m ready….

will try to get back to see you sooner the next time…..

quaker-sal-up-to-page-11.jpg

this is a picture of the SAL (stitch along) I am working on…

last night I finished stitching page 11 (59 hours) of a Quaker Sampler SAL… this is a copyrighted design by Martina Dey of Weihenburg Designs… it isn’t a mystery, but it does come out one page a week… we are almost half way thru…

I am stitching it one over one on 28 count, antique white, evenweave with Vikki Clayton silks from Hand Dyed Fibers

didn’t stitch much today, maybe tonight…   I did catch up on some of my reading…   I have many authors whose books I collect…   mostly, I lean toward mysteries and psychological thrillers…    some of my favorite arthors are, James Patterson, John Sandford, Dean Koontz, John Saul, Alex Kava, Stuart Woods and Sandra Brown to name just a few…

right now I’m reading ‘Invisible Prey’ by John Sandford…   this is the seventeenth ‘Prey’ book he has written and each one just gets better…  I would suggest that you read them in order, since there is a small thread thru them, but not enough that you couldn’t just pick up any one and love his writing…

Sunny and Bright

 the-berries-band-1.jpg

Good Morning….. another hot and sunny day here in Florida….. but since this is the reason we moved here I try not to complain…. as my husband says, ‘at least we don’t have to shovel it’….

not much on tap for today…. I started stitching a new design last night….. ‘The Berries’ a bellpull by Karen Kluba of Rosewood Manor Designs…. but I think I’m going to do it as a band sampler and frame it instead of hanging it…. so far I have one band done…. hope to do the second one today…. the picture above is of the first band….   it is stitched on 28 count, antique white, evenweave….

I usually have several things going at once so I don’t get bored….. I try to do a rotation, but have found that I don’t have enough willpower to stick to one….   so I just do which ever shouts out to me the loudest….

Hello world!
